Things to see and do
First of all it is a wonderful and unforgettable experience to just dwell and relax in the friendly surroundings, taking part of Ghanaian culture and every day life. Through the Guesthouse you can book manicure/pedicure and hair braiding or day courses in batik colouring/tie-and-dye or African cooking.
Other things do see and do include i.e. Accra with its different parts, museums, monuments and markets, Cape Coast & Elmina along the coast west of Accra with well preserved 15th century slave castles, Kakum National Park with canopy walk in the rain forest, Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm in Mampong, Akosombo Dam, Aburi Botanical Gardens and crafts workshops on the way going, Ada Foah along the coast east of Accra...and much more!
Swimming
There are many beautiful beaches in along the coast of Ghana. However, it can be dangerous to swim due to strong currents, and you should not go into water deeper than your waist. There are many hotels with nice pool areas where you can swim, i.e. the nearby Dutchotel Nshonaa, New Coco Beach Hotel or Labadi Beach Hotel.
African Dance and Drumming
If you are interested in African Dance and Drumming, we can direct you to professional teachers and training centres in Accra and Nungua. We also organise 2-3 weeks Dance Workshops in African / Modern African Dance, with participants from all Europe staying and having meals at the Guesthouse. At times when we do not organise workshops, we can recommend you to other such workshop organisers, and offer very attractive room prices. For more information, please send us an e-mail, or see www.legba.nu.
